Favorite Architects…Raëd Abillama Architects
What comes on your mind when you hear “The modern architecture of Middle East” ? Let me guess – Dubai, the tallest building in the world, the biggest mall in the world, the world’s best luxury hotels … Don’t get me wrong, I love Dubai and I admit the achievements of architecture of the city, but not always the biggest, the most luxurious or the most expensive means the best. All I am trying to say is that there is much more of the Middle East modern architecture we don’t hear about. I found this Lebanese architecture company in internet, and I was kind of surprised there is not much information about it, because I can say their projects are really nice. The name of the company is Raëd Abillama Architects, established in the year 1997 by arch.Raëd Abillama, who has Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design and Master of Architectural Design Degree from Columbia University, New York. For 2 years, he worked at Raphael Viñoly Architects PC, NYC, where he was involved in and exposed to various large-scale projects.
